The allegation that Iraq was trying to purchase uranium from Niger surfaced in a report by Italy's Military Intelligence and Security Service (SISMI). In the fall of 2001 a mysterious stranger offered to sell information about Iraq's efforts to regenerate its nuclear weapons program by obtaining uranium from Niger. Since Niger is the world's third most important country for the export of uranium, the Niger embassy in Rome provides a keyhole for snoops like the SISMI to peer into the world of nuclear proliferation.
Despite strong reservations about the reliability of the documents by the Italian Foreign Ministry, the information was passed along to the British MI-6 liaison and later to the U.S.-CIA. The report from Italy was not given too much credence by the CIA since it was third-ha...

For only the eighth time in history, the U.S. Senate convicted a federal judge of articles of impeachment, removing him from office.
By a vote of 96-0 on Wednesday, senators convicted U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Porteous of the Eastern District of Louisiana of "high crimes and misdemeanors" for accepting bribes, lying in bankruptcy filings and concealing evidence from the Senate during his confirmation process.

The Tidwell matter ended with Judge J. Michael Welch reducing felony charges to misdemeanors and imposing a $10,000 fine. The "spirit of cooperation' cited by Welch is a joke, and he can't recognize it.
Welch should be removed from hearing any further criminal matters and be assigned traffic and small-claims matters.

While there weren't any formal rules restricting the use of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's ARPANET by those with authorized access, the network had been built for "official use only" to link up scientific minds -- and expensive ARPA computers -- for research purposes. Using it for razor retrieval was akin to using an aircraft carrier for a similar triviality. Yet while ARPANET was never intended for email, research sharing is an essentially collaborative process and communication a necessary part of collaboration. Part of its appeal from the start was its ability to link team members who didn't have the luxury of sharing a space. In some cases, it was teams comprised of individuals throughout a university campus; in others, it was researchers located across the globe.

There have been the disgruntled defendants who didn't like the fine and court costs handed down, the speeders who argued they weren't going as fast as the officer said, and those who disagreed with Brown's ruling on their attire in the courtroom.

President Obama has engaged in numerous high crimes and misdemeanors. The Democratic majority in Congress is in peril as Americans reject his agenda. Yet more must be done: Mr. Obama should be impeached.
He is slowly - piece by painful piece - erecting a socialist dictatorship. We are not there - yet. But he is putting America on that dangerous path. He is undermining our constitutional system of checks and balances; subverting democratic procedures and the rule of law; presiding over a corrupt, gangster regime; and assaulting the very pillars of traditional capitalism. Like Venezuela's leftist strongman, Hugo Chavez, Mr. Obama is bent on imposing a revolution from above - one that is polarizing America along racial, political and ideological lines. Mr. Obama is the most divisive presid...
