  • In compliance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, the U.S. Coast Guard intends to submit Information Collection Requests (ICRs) to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), requesting approval of a revision to the following collections of information: 1625-0012, Certificate of Discharge to Merchant Mariners and 1625-0040, Application for Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC), Merchant Mariner Medical Certificate Evaluation Report, Small Vessel Sea Service Form, DOT/USCG Periodic Drug Testing Form, and Merchant Mariner Evaluation of Fitness for Entry Level Ratings. Our ICRs describe the information we seek to collect from the public. Before submitting these ICRs to OIRA, the Coast Guard is inviting comments as described below.

  • Federal officials announced late last month that 15 Maine schools would share a $27.1 million grant to pay their teachers to pursue an advanced credential and fund a teacher evaluation system based on students' performance. A survey questionnaire was administered to samples of college students in the three countries during the academic year of 2004-2005. The questionnaire was sent and distributed to 500 college students in each country.   • The Iowa Department of Management has notified Four Oaks that its Parents as Teachers program in Dubuque County has earned the Iowa Family Support Credential, becoming just the seventh Iowa program to earn the distinction. The Iowa Family Support Credential is awarded to family-support and parent-education programs that are validated through an external evaluation to be in substantial adherence to the Iowa Family Support Standards.

The Iowa Family Support Credential is awarded to family support and parent education programs that are validated through an external evaluation to be in substantial adherence to the Iowa Family Support Standards. The program provides family support and parent education services to more than 242 families per year in Dubuque County. The program receives funding from the Dubuque County Early Childhood Iowa and the Dubuque Community School District.
