Courtrooms and other venues are suffering a shortage of court reporters as fewer graduate from certified programs, according to a recent report by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA). The report indicates a downward trend in the number of court reporters graduating from NCRA-certified programs, despite the fact that most government, freelance and professional firm positions pay in excess of $70,000 a year.
