KNOXVILLE - A soldier who was imprisoned for his role in the deaths of three Iraqi detainees is returning to Fort Campbell after his conviction was overturned by an appeals court.
Rick Rzepka, a Fort Campbell spokesman, said Ray Girouard has been reinstated as a staff sergeant after the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces in April overturned his three convictions for negligent homicide.
