In October 2003, I launched the Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Month Awards Breakfast/Luncheon. October is designated as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and it was my sincere hope that this event would support these organizations and encourage the staff that help victims and continue to work to decrease domestic violence in our community. Through our Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Month Awards Breakfast/Luncheon, we have collected and donated over 75,000 items to Wayne County families as well as honor the tireless efforts of men and women in the social services, ecumenical, cultural and judicial communities. One of the most awesome powers of government is the ability to condemn and take privately owned property through eminent domain. This comment asserts that takings that do not fall within one of the limited exceptions and which primarily benefit a private entity at the expense of owners of non-blighted private property not only fail to pass constitutional muster, but also work in an economically inefficient manner so as to threaten perpetually all ownership of real property in the US. Police call drowning in Wayne suspicious
HUNTINGTON - Police are treating the drowning of a Wayne County woman in a bathtub as a suspicious death.
