RENO, Nev., March 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The United States Department of Interior, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) - Battle Mountain District Office has awarded a $1.6 million contract to Environmental Management Planning Solutions, Inc. (EMPSi) to prepare a resource management plan (RMP) to guide development and conservation on 10.5 million acres of federal land within Lander County, Eureka County, Nye County, and Esmeralda County, Nevada. The BLM has over 120 Field Offices that manage 245 million surface acres, as well as 700 million acres of subsurface mineral estate. The Bureau is in the process of revising the RMPs for these lands.
