Publication of this notice temporarily segregates the mineral interests in the land covered by the application from appropriation under the mining and mineral leasing laws for up to 2 years to determine the suitability of the federally-owned mineral interests for conveyance pursuant to Section 209 of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of October 21, 1976.

The surface owner, Lotocka, LLC, filed an application on September 22, 2010, for the conveyance of the federally owned mineral interests of a 459.60 acre tract of land in Pinal County, Arizona. Publication of this notice temporarily segregates the Federal mineral interests in the land covered by the application from appropriation under the public land laws, including the mining laws, for up to 2 years while the application is being processed.

A Keyser man who died Sunday while ice fishing on a Grant County lake was remembered Tuesday as a valued friend and colleague.
Richard "Rick" Kimble, 56, drove a school bus for the Mineral County Board of Education for 34 years, said Mineral County Superintendent Tilden "Skip" Hackworth, who knew Kimble for about nine years.

On Dec. 7, 1944, Sgt. James Aubrey Stewart wrote a letter to family and friends in the tight-knit Mineral County town of Piedmont, sending Christmas wishes from the mud and cold of Belgium.
