Pamela Merriman, of Jasper County, filed suit in August 2010 against Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America. She alleged that electrical arcing in the dashboard of her parked car resulted in a fire that caused more than $300,000 in damage to her residence. The vehicle was in the garage at the time of the blaze.
