• Auditor: Greene County Must Repay Library Association ; Commissioners Violated Law by Asking for Help Paying Salaries.

XENIA -- The Ohio state auditor's office recently released an audit finding that Greene County had to repay $66,010 to the Greene County Law Library Association. Auditor Mary Taylor's office found that the Greene County Board of Commissioners violated generally accepted accounting practices by getting money from the library association to partially pay for two employees' salaries.

• Carper Threatens to Leave Group: Not Supporting Measure

Leaders of the state's largest county are threatening to pull out of the County Commissioners Association of West Virginia. Kanawha County Commission President Kent Carper took a representative of the lobbying organization to task during Thursday's meeting for not supporting a measure in the recent legislative session that would have changed how sheriffs are paid.
