SHANGHAI and BEIJING, Nov. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Golf Manufacturers Anti-Counterfeiting Working Group announced today the completion of multiple strategic raids on China-based counterfeiting operations, where the group worked with local law enforcement officials to seize over 25,000 counterfeit golf products. The raids took place at stores in two of the world's most heavily trafficked ; Pudong Yatai Xin Yang Market in Shanghai and Ya Xiu Market in Beijing. WASHINGTON - Lawmakers from both parties are challenging the Department of Homeland Security over policies that they say impede efforts to stop imports of counterfeit electronics used in military devices.
The electronic chips, which act like the brain for many electronic devices, are one of the most counterfeited parts in the Pentagon's supply chain, according to a Commerce Department report last year. PETERSBURG - The owner of two Washington Street stores has been arrested by federal agents after he was indicted on charges of selling counterfeit goods.
Belal Amin Alsaidi, 30, was arrested Wednesday in Buffalo, N.Y., after a federal grand jury in Richmond indicted him on one count of conspiracy and three counts of trafficking in counterfeit goods.
