Barbara Hoppe hasn't been on the Columbia City for all that long compared with some previous representatives, but she's now its most seasoned member.
The Sixth Ward representative just started the final year of her second term. It's not much compared to the five-term tenure of former Mayor Darwin Hindman or the six times Chris Janku was elected, but their retirements and other open seats have created one of the least experienced s since the 1970s. The city staff itself also is seeing a lot of change, most notably with the recent hire of City Manager Mike Matthes.

The Columbia City Council will meet at 7 p.m. tomorrow in the council chambers of City Hall. The meeting is open to the public.
