Following Wednesday's ruling by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, electric rates charged by Public Service Company of Oklahoma will increase less than 1 percent for commercial and residential customers while declining for industrial users. Under the proposal OK'd by the commission, residential customers will see a 0.45-percent increase - or 35 cents a month - for 1,000 kilowatt-hours of use, said Stan Whiteford, PSO spokesman.

Two bills introduced Monday in the Oklahoma Legislature would expand the Oklahoma Corporation Commission's powers to regulate natural gas and oil pipelines in the state.
