CHELMSFORD, Mass., April 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Residents of Chelmsford are uniting behind an effort to recall four selectmen amongst evidence of corruption and malfeasance. After filing some 1,400 affidavit signatures on Tuesday requesting recall petitions, residents have until May 2 to submit the necessary 2,500 signatures to recall each Board member (10,000 in total for all four).

During the last couple of decades, as Black folk amassed Ph.D's. Ed.'s and all sorts of terminal degrees; seats on Fortune 500 corporation boards, presidencies of those same companies, college and university presidencies; and owners of high tech businesses; some of us apparently thought racism had hung out a 'gone fishing' sign.
In Chicago it's not the feds who remind us of racism's viability - it's the small-minded individuals who chose to spray paint "Nigger Beware" on a Black couple' garage on the Southwest Side. While the spray painting is not as egregious as the other two examples, it's a sound enough reminder that despite whatever progress Black folk have made, there's still much to do.
