GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands (HedgeWorld.com) - Offshore law firms Mourant and Quin & Hampson will merge in a bid to strengthen both firms' position in the Cayman Islands, the Caribbean home to many a hedge fund.
Under the agreement, which is expected to receive regulatory approval at the end of April, Quin & Hampson's partners will form a new Mourant partnership for the jurisdiction while its operations and employees will move under the Mourant banner. Included in the deal is Q&H Corporate Services Ltd., which will join with Mourant's smaller corporate services department. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The deal will see Dublin, Ireland-based Custom House provide technical support and training on the PAXUS system to IDS Alternate Fund Services, a subsidiary of IDS.
