Sharon Marie Hess, an active member of the Cornerstone Community Church, died Wednesday in Roswell Park Cancer Institute after a two- and-a-half year battle with colon cancer. She was 59.
Ms. Hess was born in Buffalo and graduated from Kenmore East High School in 1969. At 16, she began working for Chiavetta's and continued to work off-and-on for the local barbecue caterer for the rest of her life. She also worked on the wait staff for the Buffalo area's first Red Lobster on Maple Road in Williamsville in the early 1980s, and worked with food service provider Sodexo from 1987 to 1997.

Helen Audra Niday Robertson, 92, of Narrows, went to be with the Lord Friday, November 4, 2011.
She was born on October 31, 1919, a lifelong resident of the Wolf Creek community, Narrows, Virginia, a 1936 graduate of Narrows High School and a faithful member of Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church. Helen served many years in a number of capacities at Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church, including secretary/ treasurer, Sunday School teacher, and an active member in the women's ministries. She also served as church representative to the Giles County Christian Mission Board, and volunteered at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek.
