The study carries out a review of theoretical and methodological possibility to identify and build a minimal (consistent and complete) list of criteria for real economic convergence aimed at to assess the status of real economic convergence in the European Union. The essence of the study is to identify the necessary and sufficient predicates of macro-economic indicators that allow us to qualify them as criteria for real economic convergence. In the end, some methodological issues are developed and applied. To be sure on the accuracy of research, the sufficient predicates are examined concerning their independence, consistency and completeness. Based on these predicates, thorough examinations of the correlation between the process of real convergence and the nominal convergence is carrie...

Alliance Funding uses Incognito Software solutionl - Company Operations
Home-equity loan firm Alliance Funding has implemented an advanced DHCP and DNS solution to manage remote sites on its network and nearly eliminate paperwork and administrative hassles. Key criteria for the new network included fast convergence times between DNS zones, easy installation, flexibility and dynamic DNS support. Alliance selected Incognito's solution after unsuccessfully trying products from Microsoft and others. Incognito offered an on-site demo of its IP and DNS Commander, and Alliance soon installed the products at its headquarters. The primary DNS server can run both services concurrently and resolve names at remote sites. Configuring IP and DNS Commander to work together eliminated the archaic WINS...

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA or Agency) is proposing numeric water quality criteria to protect ecological systems, aquatic life, and human health from nitrogen and phosphorus pollution in estuaries and coastal waters within the State of Florida not covered by EPA-approved State rulemaking, and south Florida inland flowing waters. These proposed criteria apply to Florida waters that are designated as Class I, Class II, or Class III waters and they are intended to protect these designated uses as well as implement for the purposes of the Clean Water Act the State's narrative nutrient provision at Subsection 62-302.530(47)(b), Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.), which provides that ``[i]n no case shall nutrient concentrations of a body of water be altered so as to cause ...

Under the Maastricht Treaty of 1992, a single currency called the "euro" was adopted, and economic criteria for membership in the European Monetary Union were established. The objectives of the Maastricht Treaty were to eliminate the costs connected with several European currencies, increase both currency and international stability, and stimulate economic growth and employment with a more efficient single market and European integration. The individual Member States and the European Union as a whole would benefit with free circulation of goods, services, people, and capital among the Member States ("What is," n.d., p. 2-3). On January 1, 1999, eleven of the fifteen existing European Union (EU) Member States joined the EMU: Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Lux...

Former communist countries in Europe faced difficult choices over the past 15 years as they moved from centrally planned economies to market economies. The Hungarian transformation provides an interesting case for analysis because of its relative success. This analysis focuses on the Hungarian insurance sector as one part of Hungary's successful economic transition and integration from a centrally planned economy to a market economy. The transition of the Hungarian insurance market presents a thought-provoking case of revolutionary change from a bureaucratic monopoly with inefficient performance to a competitive, albeit oligopolistic, insurance market.

The biblical view of the human person is one that sees an openness to the transcendent as crucial; that portrays human life and creation itself as a gift of God, to be reverenced and respected; that endorses human reason and human freedom; that sees God entering into a covenant with the human family and, based on that covenant, drawing out principles of communal responsibility, justice, and compassionate love - especially for the vulnerable. The statement enunciates six other guiding criteria, rooting each in the biblical tradition and suggesting ways each might inform and enrich contemporary moral reflection: * The criterion of "convergence" recognizes moral values common to both the Scriptures and secular human cultures, forming a basis for respectful dialogue between the church and ...
