The Seattle SuperSonics were in a state of flux during Fourth of July weekend, 2008.
On July 2, the group of Oklahoma City businessmen that had recently purchased the team for $350 million reached a $45 million settlement with the city of Seattle. The deal would end a lawsuit that Seattle had filed against the SuperSonics and allow the team to break its lease with the city's KeyArena.
