This paper examines personality traits as antecedents to perceptions of the usefulness and intention to use a virtual reality team (VRT) environment at an early stage of virtual team education. Subjects watched a training video emphasizing communication in VRTs across various boundaries including time, culture, social norms, and organizational expectations. Subjects then completed and returned surveys collecting relevant constructs. Support for the proposed model was found in which personality traits predicted propensity to trust and technology communication anxiety. In addition, propensity to trust and technology communication anxiety predicted perceived VRT usefulness and intention to use VRTs respectively. The model suggests that both stable personality traits such as extraversion an...

This article outlines a rationale for investigating the individual (one-on-one) treatment format and individualized (case-tailored) services for partner abuse perpetrators. Many state standards caution against or prohibit individual services in abuser intervention. However, initial research indicates that motivational interviewing, conducted individually, can increase abusive clients' engagement in the change process. Challenges of using the group format in treatment development are discussed along with potential benefits of individual treatment for this population. Notably, individual treatment can be adapted to the client's stage of change, can address a range of presenting concerns (such as substance abuse and mood disorders) that may influence outcome, and can be used to focus clini...

This essay uses primary source publications from Nazi Germany to explore how anti-Semitism developed and intensified into a genocidal logic. Understanding how this intensification could occur long before the networks of concentration camps or World War II arose could reveal how language paves a path to genocide. Using the concepts of telos and logology garnered from Kenneth Burke enables the rhetorical logic of anti-Semitism to unfold and become subject to disruption.
