Brownsville Marine Products LLC has awarded a contract to General Industries Inc. of Charleroi to build a 44,100-square-foot pre- engineered building in Brownsville, the contractor said on Thursday.
The expansion, to be completed in March, will create 50 jobs in early 2012, adding to the work force of 300.

The U.S. Marine Corps has awarded Oshkosh Truck Corp. a contract worth up to $740 million for a fleet of armored combat trucks that could be used in Afghanistan and Iraq.
It's the second-largest Marine Corps contract for Oshkosh Truck, which already has more than 6,000 vehicles in the Middle East carrying troops and delivering supplies. The largest contract was $1.2 billion awarded in 1998.

The Maryland Port Administration has asked for permission to extend its contract with the operator of Seagirt Marine Terminal by up to a year while officials say they continue to work on a long- term deal to bring in a private company to run the facility.
The Board of Public Works is scheduled Wednesday to review a six- month, $20 million extension with Ports America Baltimore Inc., the company that has run Seagirt since it opened in 1990. That deal, from November through next April, extends a one-year, $41.6 million contract approved last year.

WAUSAU - The union at an eastern Wisconsin boat engine maker approved a sweeping package of wage and benefit concessions Friday that the company said it needed to keep 850 manufacturing jobs from moving to Oklahoma.
