SOUTH NORWALK, Conn., May 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In November 2009, for the first and only time in its history, Maclaren USA, Inc. -- in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission ("CPSC") -- announced a voluntary recall to notify consumers that the strollers' hinge mechanism poses a potential hazard to the child when the consumer is opening or closing an umbrella stroller.
The purpose of the present announcement is to provide a follow up to the corrective actions already taken, and to remind consumers of the hinge covers required for Maclaren strollers sold prior to 2010. Hinge covers remain available for products with the old-style hinge. WASHINGTON - More than 2.1 million drop-side cribs by Stork Craft Manufacturing are being recalled, the biggest crib recall in U.S history, following reports of four infant suffocations.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission said late Monday the recall involves 1.2 million cribs in the United States and almost 1 million in Canada, where Stork Craft is based. Sales of the cribs being recalled go back to 1993.
