DAYTON --The preliminary investigation of Monday's fatal construction site accident on Interstate 70 revealed that the audible signals on the dump truck that ran over a construction worker were working and the victim's ears were not covered. But Ohio Highway Patrol investigators haven't determined what caused the truck's driver not to see the victim and what prevented the victim from getting out of the way.
LANCASTER, Wis. - A Cuba City man will be in Grant County Circuit Court at 2 p.m. Wednesday for a preliminary hearing on a charge of negligent homicide in the November death of Brett Runde, 28, also of Cuba City. Daniel Pearce, 37, is charged with homicide by negligent use of equipment and injury by negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
