Stephen Myers knows his boss's talking points so well he can stand in for him, reciting them as technicians adjust the lights for the next presidential debate.
My religion, what I believe in, is called the Constitution of the United States of America.

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.)

For one of the enduring reasons to support consolidation of Memphis and Shelby County governments, look to the history, and the very name, of our country: the United States of America.
At a time when neither Memphis, Shelby County nor Tennessee was even on the map, a group of ardent Americans was debating whether a new form of consolidated federal government should replace the existing - and to some, outdated - charter known as the Articles of Confederation. The new form of government outlined in the proposed Constitution of the United States of America was an attempt to strengthen the security and economies of the existing states - to help secure "the common good of the society.

In 1969 I walked in uniform with the aid of canes in San Francisco airport going on my last trip home. My military service to my country was done, cut short. I watched on the airport TV as the flag of my country was being burned in free demonstrations. While I thought it a terrible sight, I reminded myself with a small smile that I and other military through our blood and ultimate sacrifice - like 19-year-old Ronnie Pallares of Rancho Cucamonga - made flag- burning demonstrations possible in a free country.
We the military make sure the Constitution of the United States of America and the freedom of the American public is kept in place, not politicians nor lawyers.

Try some different leaders
To the editor -- We have a national crisis, and it is not global warming or health care reform; it is our federal government trying to change our lives into a socialistic-communistic society. Americans who value the freedoms protected by the Constitution of the United States of America know that these changes can severely damage our country.

My class of 5th-grade students is learning about the Constitution of the United States of America, and we all thought that the Sixteenth Amendment was kind of weird.
The Sixteenth Amendment is about income tax. It said that Congress has the power to collect taxes on its citizens, based on their personal incomes rather than on the number of people living in a state.

There have been many articles written regarding the "Amazon tax" on items bought on the Internet. It appears that the states want to squeeze every last penny out of the average citizen and they do not care if what they do is constitutional or not. I assume these "legislators" took an oath of office to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America - they did, didn't they?
Or has our Constitution just become another wall decoration?
