Reflect, show respect to funeral processions
Having just returned from the funeral and burial service of a good friend, I feel compelled to write to express how appalled I am at the lack of courtesy and consideration of some drivers in the Bloomington area.

RUMFORD - Mountain Valley High School has announced that Mollie Kaubrys has been selected as the DAR Good Citizen for the Class of 2008. Kaubrys is the daughter of Mary and Jack Kaubrys of Rumford.
The DAR candidate is selected by the principal. In a recent investigation of consumer complaining, Bolkan and Daly (2007) found that consumer complaints were mitigated by organizational response types (excuses, justifications, and apologies) and their components (believability, appropriateness, consideration, and accepting responsibility). What remained to be explained was if organizations' remediation tactics differed in the minds of consumers of services and products. The current study sought to determine if consumers of services and products differ in their perceptions of organizational remediation messages. Mary Jo Pancratz, principal of Hillcrest Family Services K-12 Special Education School, has been nominated by a local fraternal group of Masons (Julien Lodge #551) for the Grand Lodge of Iowa's Teacher of the Year Award.
Public school educators from across Iowa are annually recognized for their dedication and commitment to the students of Iowa. Margaret Chase Smith (R-Maine) once declared that public service must be more than doing a job efficiently and honestly; it must be a "complete dedication to the people, with full recognition that every human being is entitled to courtesy and consideration." Tall order. But Jan Stanley's colleagues believe he has fulfilled that charge in his 46 years of social work. The New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department recently presented Stanley with the Rose Praisner Award for his "outstanding work" with thousands of children.

I was watching our local public access television station on March 7. The station was showing the latest and most dramatic installment of the Auburn City Council meeting. If anybody else was watching, I'm wondering if their mouths were as wide open as mine.
I was dumbfounded by the behavior of virtually every participant of the council, the mayor included. I was appalled by the general lack of courtesy, professionalism and consideration by each and every individual.
