Quinnipiac University has received a grant for $86,000 from the Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority to purchase and install a wireless network communication system at Farm River State Park in East Haven. Quinnipiac assumed management of the park three years ago with Schooner Sound Learning in New Haven. Professor Allan Smits, chairman of Quinnipiac's biology department, wrote the proposal for Quinnipiac to manage the park.
The grant will allow the university's planned science center at the park to communicate with similar centers and provide a wireless communication system throughout the park.
