DMV is source of fake licenses If an al-Qaida terrorist wanted to create a false U.S. identity, one obliging source would have been Connecticut's Department of Motor Vehicles. Licenses for illegal aliens have allegedly been for sale here for $3,000, split between a go-between and a corrupt DMV clerk, according to the charges filed against the one state worker arrested so far.
The DMV's reputation as a source of fake licenses was known as far as Florida, according to a businessman there who complained to the DMV. He said that eight of his employees claimed they had gotten licenses here without documenting their identity and that Connecticut was well known as an easy place to obtain false licenses.
