A federal grand jury indicted a Vietnam veteran Wednesday on charges that he stole federal money by fraudulently seeking benefits for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced.
Darryl J. Hodgkinson, of Huntington, served as a wheeled vehicle mechanic for the 362nd Signal Company in the U.S. Army, according to the indictment. He was discharged in 1971 "under less than honorable conditions," but the Army changed that to "general discharge" in 1977, which allowed Hodgkinson to apply for certain benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Administration.
