The Newstead Town Board on Monday asked the town attorney to draft a resolution addressing minor clarifications in an environmental review document on Akron Airport. Meeting in a work session, the board noted that comments received during a 30-day comment period on its conditional negative declaration of the environmental impact of the airport's planned renovations and expansion did not raise any new issues.

Ben Roethlisberger hopes to play Sunday night in Denver, expects to hear from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell soon about his conditional suspension and has no problem with recent comments made by former Steelers coach Bill Cowher. Cowher told the Associated Press in an interview earlier this week that Roethlisberger has been hard to reach in regard to his- off-the-field behavior during the latter's first three years in the league. Cowher, who told AP that he believes Roethlisberger is a good person, likened it to a child not always listening to his or her parents and having to learn something the hard way.

The paper studies the temporal variations in the conditional correlations between real estate investment trust (REIT) returns and equity, bond, and commodity returns. The findings reveal that the correlations between REITs and equity returns rose over the period analyzed, while the correlations with bonds and commodities fell. The findings also reveal that the correlations with REITs rose especially in periods of above average volatility in equity and bond markets; however, for U.S. government securities and the Goldman Sachs Commodity Index, the conditional correlations with REITs fell in periods of high volatility in these markets.
