The site is available at www.doj.state.wi.us/dles/cib/ConcealedCarry/ ConcealedCarry.asp. The page provides important updates, including a link to the emergency rules, application and training requirements information, and a model certificate to serve as a guide for instructors providing students with proof of training. Permit application forms will be made available online and by mail on Tuesday, Nov. 1. COLUMBUS -- A bill to allow concealed carry permit holders to take their guns into Ohio bars and restaurants serving alcohol could be on its way to Gov. John Kasich next week after the House on Wednesday gave its approval, 56-40. House Bill 45, like Senate Bill 17 -- separate but similar legislation approved last month by the Senate -- would prohibit concealed carry permit holders from drinking while in the bars or restaurants.

Administrators at the state's CareerTech schools are bracing themselves for what could be increased insurance costs and additional security, spawned by a bill set to become law in November. House Bill 1652 will allow residents with a concealed-carry permit to store their weapons in locked vehicles on CareerTech campuses. The bill passed the Oklahoma House of Representatives 75- 5 on May 15 and cleared the Oklahoma Senate 35-17 two days later. Gov. Mary Fallin signed the measure on May 25.

Madison -- Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen for the first time issued a state permit Wednesday allowing a retired investigator to carry a concealed firearm. Van Hollen's decision lays bare the differing opinions among law enforcement agencies about whether they should -- or even can -- issue permits to retired officers in one of only two states that ban the general population from carrying concealed weapons.

DAYTON - A man who had a concealed-carry weapons permit and entered the Montgomery County Courthouse with his gun Tuesday has been charged with illegal possession in a courthouse. It is the first arrest in Montgomery County for violating the concealed-carry law since it went into effect in April, said Sheriff's Maj. Gary Drummer.
