A computer programmer-analyst, Lex has volunteered once a week for the past 20 years for the St. Benedict Community Meal, which serves some 400 people every night but Saturday. That number can swell on holidays such as Thanksgiving, when a traditional meal with trimmings is served from 2 to 3:30 p.m. In recent years, Lex also has become the go-to guy for Thanksgiving turkey carving, spending several hours slicing and deboning the meat on Tuesday and Wednesday before the holiday.
