TETERBORO -- Nine college-bound students were each awarded $1,500 scholarships by Teterboro Airport on Wednesday at an annual luncheon that recognizes academic achievement.
Each year as a community service, the airport's Community Benefits Fund Committee awards scholarships to high school seniors like Stephen Mozia of Hackensack, who has already been accepted at Cornell University.

Cherry Hill, N.J.-based Commerce Bank, which has a major presence on Long Island, is looking for 225 high school seniors who need a few bucks for college.
As part of its American Dream Scholarship, the bank seeks community-service oriented students with a strong academic record to apply for individual $1,000 scholarships. The criteria: Students must reside in a county served by Commerce (such as Nassau and Suffolk) and must plan to enroll in a two- or four-year college program after their high school graduation. Grade point averages must be better than 3.0 (a "solid B") and students must participate in community and extracurricular activities.
