Mercy Hospital St. Louis has agreed to pay the federal government $365,000 to settle claims that the hospital submitted false claims to Medicare.
Mercy Hospital, located in Creve Coeur, is one of 14 hospitals located throughout the country that faced similar allegations and agreed to settle, the Department of Justice announced Tuesday. The settlements total more than $12 million and in addition to Missouri include hospitals in Florida, New York, Mississippi, Indiana, Washington and North Carolina.

TOPPENISH -- A Goldendale man was struck and killed by a car Thursday night in Toppenish after police say he wandered drunk onto the road.
Darrell Q. Kuneki, 57, was hit around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of Division Road and State Route 22. He later died at Toppenish Community Hospital. Kuneki was struck by a 1997 Ford Taurus driven by Richard Anderson, 57, of Wapato, who had two young passengers -- a 10-year-old and 16-year-old.

David Anderson, 63, of Ephrata, PA, passed away into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010 at Ephrata Community Hospital. He was the husband of Lucinda L. (Desmarais) Anderson.
Born in Lancaster, PA, David was the son of Mary J. (McGuire) Anderson and the late Robert C. Anderson. He attended Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church in Reamstown, PA.

REDLANDS The City Council on Tuesday approved the building of a two-story medical office building near Redlands Community Hospital.
The 39,000-square-foot building, proposed by Edward Anderson, will be located on 4.3 acres on Terracina Boulevard across from the hospital. An additional parking lot for employees will be located east of the building, on Roberts Road.
