Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt has launched an investigation into the alleged embezzlement of approximately $1 million in Medicaid funding from a nonprofit organization holding a state contract to serve mental health patients statewide, officials said Wednesday.
Scandal at Kansas Health Solutions, of Topeka, has claimed two top executives at the organization, which was created as a subsidiary of the Association of Community Mental Health Centers. The association is comprised of 27 mental health clinics with a provider network extending into all 105 counties.
