Community groups and churches must be major forces in the fight against AIDS, a national activist told local leaders Friday. Organizations were urged to broaden their missions to help address what speakers branded a "national health crisis" during a forum held at the Community Action Organization of Erie County Resource Center on Fillmore Avenue.
A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION The SAFENOWPROJECT serves as a community-action organization that educates children and others about skills and strategies to prevent sexual violence by creating programs, curricula, and protocols for schools, churches, and businesses.1 It also mobilizes communities to take action on a societal problem that impacts thousands of people and has annual health-care expenses and other costs in the billions of dollars.
