Ngota, Sabouang and Mintya were arrested on February 5 by Cameroon's secret service, the Directorate-General of External Intelligence (DGRE), on charges of forgery. Days earlier, each of their newspapers received a copy of a letter purportedly written by Laurent Esso, secretary-general of the Presidency of the Republic of Cameroon and chair of the board of Cameroon's state-owned oil company Societe National des Hydrocarbures (SNH). The letter contained instructions for SNHs deputy director-general to pay "commission fees" of $2.5 million for the purchase of a luxury hotel ship. The journalists decided to ask Esso about the letter.

Its Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim says the ministry, through the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), had provided for two phases of distribution of the computers to students and community leaders.

Challenger Dean Peterson, 64, said he was running for office because he enjoys living in Elmwood Park and now has time to give back to the community since retiring as a college pastor at Carthage College in Kenosha in 2002.

Dr. David L. Beckley, president of Rust College, presented certificates to longtime Rust College trustees Dr. Dorthy Pennington and Dr. David Swinton, during a meeting prior to the school's spring commencement activities .
Both Pennington, Rust Class of 1968, and Swinton have served on the Board of Trustees for nine years. Pennington is an associate professor of African and African-American studies, and communication studies at the University of Kansas at Lawrence. Swinton is a minister serving in the Iowa Conference of the United Methodist Church.
