  • SPRINGFIELD -- Judge Doug-las Rastatter of Clark County Common Pleas Court has been accused of judicial misconduct and could face disciplinary action by the Ohio Supreme Court that includes disbarment. Rastatter is accused of wrongdoing in six cases stemming from his actions on the bench since he was elected judge Nov. 2, 2004, according to court documents obtained by Cox Ohio Media Group.

  • SPRINGFIELD -- Clark County Common Pleas Judge Douglas Rastatter, accused of judicial misconduct, denies any wrongdoing in a written response to the Ohio Supreme Court. In a 10-page document, Rastatter said he did not violate professional and judicial codes of conduct and disputes claims in a recent complaint that he violated the law in six cases he presided over since he was elected in 2004.

  • SPRINGFIELD -- Clark County Common Pleas Court has asked former Springfield funeral director James E. Qualls III to defend himself against allegations that he is practicing without a license. The Ohio Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors filed a motion April 26 asking Qualls to show in court that he did not violate a February 2010 injunction that prevents him from acting or practicing as a funeral director or violating certain board rules.

  • DAYTON -- Physical fitness centers that operated in Montgomery and Clark counties owe employees at those locations a total of more than $31,000 in underpaid minimum wages, overtime wages and legal damages, state authorities alleged in a lawsuit. The Ohio Department of Commerce filed suit in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court last week against Powerhouse Gym of Centerville LLC, 1553 Lyons Road, Centerville, and City Center Fitness LLC and Powerhouse Gym LLC of Enon LLC, 7607 Dayton-Springfield Road, Enon.
