CHICAGO (HedgeWorld.com) - Looking to capitalize on growing demand for new investment products, State Street Global Investors and Lyxor Asset Management separately on Wednesday announced the launches of a number of new exchange-traded funds targeting Russian markets, commodities, pharmaceuticals, retail and regional banking. Lyxor Asset Management, Paris, launched the Lyxor ETF Russia, which will be listed on Euronext Paris. The ETF is based on the Dow Jones Rusindex Titans 10 index, which consists of the 10 most liquid stocks on the Moscow Stock Exchange.

Now with the explosive growth of interest in commodities, commodity securities products are being created at a rapid pace. Soon there could be an exchange-traded-funds (ETF) for every commodity out there. Or at least every commodity in the Dow Jones AIG Commodity Index (DJ-AIGCI) -- plus one -- as Dow Jones and AIG announced the creation of 20 new single commodity sub-indexes. Traders many look at the single commodity index as a way to determine what is driving movement in the futures.
