The former owner of the Greenbrooke Building is asking Kanawha County Commission President Kent Carper to sit out a decision on whether the company owes nearly $300,000 in back taxes.
Through its attorneys, Greenbrooke Associates LLC has filed a motion with the county commission claiming that Carper should not preside over a tax exoneration hearing scheduled for 9 a.m. today, due to Carper's "predetermined opinion" on the matter.
