At a time when African Americans are making big strides in political office in Columbus and Franklin County - today, both Columbus City Council and the Columbus Board of Education have Black majorities, and a couple of African-American Democratic men were elected judges in Franklin County for the first time in history - the county elective offices have been the last hurdle for African-American politicians to conquer.
