Private schools exclusive
This is in regards to Wayne Laugesen's "Vouchers will end bigotry," Our View, Mar. 20. Laugesen, the ideas you presented in your editorial are backwards. Vouchers will promote bigotry and exclusion in this city, not vice-versa. Did you know that many (if not all) private schools have requirements for admittance? For example, if you go to the Colorado Springs Christian School Web page and look under their admissions criteria, you will notice that students must score 40 percent or higher on a standardized test in order to be considered for enrollment. Also, they cannot accommodate any students with special education needs, and any student who has had a behavior problem at their prior school will be carefully screened.
