State Sen. Abel Tapia of Pueblo has been named Director of the Colorado Lottery.
Tapia was elected to the Colorado House of Representatives in 1999 and to the Colorado Senate in 2003. During his tenure, Tapia was the Senate President Pro Tem and the Chairman of the Joint Budget Committee.
