This paper provides data that can help forensic economists in valuing the lost potential income of college graduates with bachelor's degrees. The paper provides information on the current (2008) dollar value of starting salaries of college graduates based on theft specific academic majors, and then analyzes the rates of growth in those salaries over the past ten years. Getting a college degree takes years of study. That effort probably will pay off in the job market, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Bright prospects are expected to continue for college graduates, especially for those who prepare for careers with lots of job openings. To estimate the demand for college graduates between 2004 and 2014, BLS analysts got specific. After realizing a growing number of students on the Wright State University campus were struggling to make ends meet, school leaders decided to open a food pantry in February.
I've heard stories from students who are unemployed, can't find a job and went back to school. Some have kids and may not eat themselves so they can provide for their families," said Rebecca Fensler, who runs the pantry as part of an AmeriCorps project. It is an uncommon sight on the typical college campus, but a sign that a growing number of students are buckling under the ever-increasing costs of college.
