SPRINGBORO -- Police determined that 14-yearold Matthew Abrams actually was a 31-year-old woman after finding her alleged victim on the streets of Franklin last month, malnourished and with sores on her feet.
Patricia Dye's true gender also surprised the friend charged with keeping track of the 16-year-old girl while the teen's mother was undergoing gallbladder surgery at Sycamore Hospital in Miamisburg.

This Note argues that schools are the best line of defense against the growing problem of cyberbullying and offers a guide for schools wary of First Amendment lawsuits by students punished for their cyberspeech. In many cases, a student engaging in cyberbullying of a classmate will create a substantial disruption at school or interfere with the right of the victim to an environment conducive to learning, thus justifying action by the school under the Tinker standard. Other Supreme Court cases regarding indecent or offensive speech and speech the Court viewed as promoting drug use may provide helpful arguments for schools accused of overstepping constitutional boundaries. This Note also suggests that schools may wish to argue that courts should show more deference to disciplinary decisio...

Less reliance on reason to determine what is of interest, and more on intuition (which is cued by emotional responses).\n An association also should clearly define for itself and its employees when an act is taken on its behalf or on behalf of the individual (for personal reasons) within an online social network or on social media. [...] as most social media are largely comprised of copyrightable works, an association should carefully consider the scope of the work-mad e-for-hire doctrine and the use of written assignment of rights agreements with individual authors, particularly non-employees (both volunteers and paid vendors/consultants), in order to ensure ownership of material that should be owned by the association.

The new digital media are a frontier that is rich with opportunities and risks, particularly for young people. Through digital technologies, young people are participating in a range of activities, including social networking, blogging, vlogging, gaming, instant messaging, downloading music and other content, uploading and sharing their own creations, and collaborating with others in various ways. In late 2006, our research team at Harvard Project Zero launched a three-year project funded by the MacArthur Foundation. The goals of the GoodPlay Project are twofold - (1) to investigate the ethical contours of the new digital media and (2) to create interventions to promote ethical thinking and, ideally, conduct. In the first year of the project, we conducted background research to determin...
