The AICPA Code of Professional Conduct lists six "articles" which are broad descriptions of behavior that govern the conduct required of an auditor. Most auditors who perform independent audits are members of the AICPA or are subject to state rules and regulations that incorporate these same concepts. The articles embody the general principles that are the foundation of the Code of Professional Conduct. The principles are supported in the code by interpretations, and, in turn, the interpretations are supported by rulings. Auditors must always follow the principles. The rules must be applied to measure adherence to ethical standards of conduct in specific circumstances or fact patterns. A great deal of thought and effort went into the development of the interpretations and rulings relate...

In 1955, following the Korean War, President Dwight D. Eisenhower established a code of conduct for members of the U.S. armed forces who might fall into enemy hands. The six articles instructed prisoners to make every effort to escape, evade answering questions beyond those permitted by the Geneva Convention and "keep faith with my fellow prisoners.
This rigid code was in place in August 1967 when Maj. (later Col.) George "Bud" Day was shot down by a surface-to-air missile some 30 miles north of the DMZ in Vietnam. His ordeal while a prisoner for nearly six years is now the subject of American Patriot: The Life and Wars of Colonel Bud Day (Little Brown, $27.99, 416 pages, illus.), by Atlanta-based journalist Robert Coram.

There has been a considerable degree of interest in the notion of joint consultation committee (JCC). In this paper, we examine process of JCC in Malaysian and Indonesian postal industries. The research focused on the implementation of JCC as a form of employee participation, followed by an evaluation of the model that best explained the practices in the postal industries. Both analysis were based on the work of Marchington (1992; 1994). Research findings indicate the adjunct model best explains the practices of JCC, whereas both JCC and collective bargaining (CB) have an integrative relationship for the beneficial of management and employees.
