The current research hypothesizes that high school club participation increases future earnings. The data used to test this theory is the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth, 1979 cohort, rounds 1-20 (NLSY79) (Bureau of Labor Statistics 2004), which collected information on individuals from 1979 through 2002. Initially, the survey was conducted on a representative sample of 12,686 persons. These individuals were surveyed annually from 1979 until 1994 and biannually thereafter. The current study employs an OLS (Ordinary Least Squares) regression model to assess the validity of the hypothesized conceptual model of the relationship between club participation and household income. The Charleston Calligraphy Guild meets on the second Saturday of the month at Rock Lake Presbyterian Church, 905 Village Drive, South Charleston. The Teays Valley Newcomers & Neighbors Club meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. The Oct. 12 meeting will be held at Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Wendy Herbert will be presenting a fall fashion show with clothing from Jockey Person to Person. Some of the ladies from the club will be modeling. Some members may be dressing in Halloween costumes, which is optional. There will be prizes. The ladies of the church will be preparing a home-cooked meal with homemade desserts and drinks to round out the luncheon. A $15 donation for lunch would be appreciated.
