When asked to voice their opinion on allowing Euronext or Deutsche Borse to buy the LSE, some members of the London Investment Banking Association (LIBA) told the United Kingdom's Competition Commission that, in hindsight, exchanges had been demutualized a bit too liberally. RICHMOND -- Even though some don't like the message it conveys, a special license plate supporting abortion rights is moving forward in the General Assembly.
A bill authorizing a plate with the message "Trust Women/Respect Choice" was introduced by Del. Robert Brink, D-Arlington. Mindful that disallowing the plate would expose the state to a First Amendment lawsuit, the Republican-controlled House Transportation Committee approved it 14-6 on Thursday, advancing it to the House floor.

The future of the historic Mutual Orange District Packing House will be up for discussion again this week, as the Redlands Redevelopment Agency considers the possible sale of the property in a closed-session meeting Tuesday.
The City Council, acting as the RDA board, has been in discussions with Krikorian Premiere Theatres and Showprop Redlands, LLC, about possible exchange of the building, but will meet with a new interested party this week. In May, Redlands resident Clara Mae Clem submitted a letter to the RDA offering to purchase the MOD Packing House and then donate it back to the city.
