The Knights outscored CJ 22- 6 in the period. The Eagles scored 24 points in the fourth quarter to claw back, but it wasn't enough. Jaaron Simmons scored 17 points for Alter (15-5). He shot 9-of-10 from the free-throw line. Max Zukowitz scored 14 and Jake Laravie 12. John Staley led CJ (6-13) with 28 points. He was the only Eagle with more than two field goals. BLOOMINGTON - A longtime Bloomington-Normal businessman known for his restaurant business and involvement in fastpitch softball died Saturday after a long battle with cancer.
Christopher J. "C.J." Stolfa, 68, of Normal, died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

Duane Williams, 54, resigned Friday after two successful girls basketball seasons. This past season the Eagles were 17-8, winning the North Division of the Girls Greater Cincinnati League. They lost in the Division II regional final to Carroll, 40-35.

A former Michigan State football star and a pair of all-state teammates on the volleyball court are among the marquee athletes heading into this year's Chaminade Julienne High School Hall of Fame.
Paul Harker, a 1998 CJ grad who also was a two-year starter at guard for Michigan State, will be among six inductees during the Feb. 19 ceremony at the school.
