Berwyn, Oak Park and Cicero Awarded For Collaboration
BERWYN, Ill., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The City of Berwyn, Village of Oak Park, and Town of Cicero accepted an award from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) for their Roosevelt Road Multi-Jurisdictional Economic Development Plan and Form Based Code, which includes the adoption of a Form-Based Zoning Overlay District and construction of a new, comprehensive streetscape for the corridor that runs through all three municipalities.

KETTERING -- As the weather finally warms (and maybe dries out), Kettering will celebrate the completion of four park renovations during the next two weekends, with two grand opening ceremonies planned Saturday.
City officials are inviting residents to Oak Park (just east of the Woodman-Adventure intersection) from 10 a.m. to noon and to Wenzler Park (on Lincoln Park, just east of Ackerman) from 1 to 3 p.m. Kettering parks Division Manager Stacy Schweikhart said Mayor Don Patterson and parks officials will talk about the renovations, which were funded through the voter-approved bond levy.

Jan. 17 the West Covina City Council approved the first step to sell 10 undeveloped acres of Shadow Oak Park located in the southern part of the city. The council stated they need the funds to balance the operating budget.
Eight years ago developers were going to develop the current Maverick Baseball Park and Ridge Rider Equestrian Center. Mayor Sherry Sanderson spearheaded the drive that thwarted the development of homes. Councilmen Mike Touhey and Steve Herfert supported West Covina purchasing this property for several million dollars.

ARCADIA - Seeing an opportunity to increase the city's revenues, the Arcadia City Council has unanimously decided to seek out a new operator for the Arcadia Par 3 Golf Course by putting the contract up for bid.
The city-owned course, adjacent to the Peck Road Water Conservation Park at the city's border south of Live Oak Avenue, was built in 1962 and has been operated and maintained by the American Golf Corp. for the past 20 years.
