Sometimes being a police officer can be a thankless job.
But last week, nearly 200 people gathered at the Montclair police station to recognize the 2008 Officers of the Year - Officer Andrew Graziano and Officer Steven Griffin - and the many achievements they accomplished last year to make the city safer.

City launches web-based tour of Montclair

MONTCLAIR - The best of three worlds came together today at Montclair's 2008 state of the city address - food, friends and flying monkeys.
While attendees piled their plates with food from the Taste of Montclair, others monkeyed around with a type of slingshot/flying monkey provided by the Redevelopment Agency as part of its "Going Ape Over Montclair" message.

Ovitt reimburses city
The city of Montclair was recently the recipient of check from Fourth District County Supervisor Gary Ovitt for reimbursement to the City for recent improvements at Alma Hofman Park.

It's not certain whether flying monkeys, the popular toy giveaway at the Montclair State of the City address several years ago, will return this year, but tasty offerings from the city's restaurants will certainly be offered.
Taste of Montclair will precede the annual State of the City address at the Community Center on Wednesday. Go hungry and watch out for flying monkeys just in case.
