No criminal charges will be filed against Valerie Parkhurst, 52, who in December canvassed the Playland Village community in Davie, where she owns property, posting flyers that warned residents about sex offenders living there. That's when one of them, 49-year-old Dale Weeks, and his girlfriend, Maria Rodriguez, confronted Parkhurst. Parkhurst, in return, pulled a handgun and later a shotgun, which she pointed inside the car at Weeks. Parkhurst disputes the police report's accounts, and was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and carrying a concealed firearm without a permit.
