Preliminary plans for the development at Wilmington Pike near Interstate 675 were approved this week by the city of Centerville, a step in the process that eventually would add another south- suburban shopping and living destination.

Karl Pauzar has spent a lifetime volunteering for different organizations and groups, but this year the 87-year-old Washington Twp. resident was recognized for the 42 years of volunteer time he donated to the city of Centerville by Mayor Mark Kingseed of the The City of Centerville.
I've volunteered for the city of Centerville in various capacities," said Pauzar, who was trained to ride with officers on police patrols and even assisted the police department by sitting in a van across the street from a construction site in order to catch thieves stealing from the incomplete buildings.

CENTERVILLE -- The Centerville City Council voted in a special meeting Feb. 11 to extend its moratorium on sign permits for changeable copy, electronic display, and LED (light emitting diode) signs in the city of Centerville for another six months (180 days), up to and including Aug. 10.
Originally passed in March 2007, the moratorium had been extended once in August, and would have expired prior to the council's Feb. 18 meeting, Centerville City Manager Greg Horn said.

A resolution to a 40-year squabble between Centerville and Washington Twp. over roughly $460,000 in unvoted property taxes didn't materialize Monday. Centerville officials claimed its residents get "no discernable benefit" from inside millage they pay to the Washington Twp. general fund and they want that payment redirected to the city.
All of that money is Centerville taxpayer money, and it really should be spent in the city for the benefit of city taxpayers," Centerville Mayor Mark King-seed said. "There is a structural unfairness. There needs to be a structural change so Centerville tax dollars stay in the city.

CENTERVILLE -- At 11 a.m. today, Nov. 11, the city of Centerville and Centerville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9550 will honor the men and women who have helped protect our freedom at their annual Veterans Day ceremony at the Veterans Memorial at Stubbs Park, 255 W. Spring Valley Road.

Sponsored by the Centerville Arts Commission, the contest sought posters to promote healthy eating and the wholesome foods sold at the Centerville Farmers Market, located on Ohio 48 in the Centerville Shopping Center near Spring Valley Road.
